A former member of the KVNF board of directors, Brian can be heard delivering the KVNF local newscast each weekday morning. Brian has lived on the Western Slope for ten years, and in the West for almost forty. His other work in transportation, events and tours takes him away occasionally, but affords him the opportunity to return with a fresh perspective from other western communities. State Budget Looking Up

For the first time in years, the upcoming state budget will not be centered on making deep cuts. Governor John Hickenlooper unveiled his budget proposal yesterday. It doesn’t include any major cuts and instead asks lawmakers for more money for education and economic development projects. State employees would also see a pay raise. Bente Birkeland has more from the state capitol.
