KVNF News Series Wins Regional Edward R. Murrow Award

KVNF Community Radio was honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association.  

KVNF Reporter LauraPalmisano won in the Best News Series category for her report on the Karen refugee community in Delta, Colo.—From Rural Myanmar to Rural Colorado.  

In this three-part series, Laura details the struggles of the Karen with language and fitting in, and the triumphs, including going to college and buying a home. This series was part of a reporting project for the Institute for Justice & Journalism’s2015 fellowship on immigrant families.
