Am I creating my destiny or chasing it?
One of my dear friends, now 96 years old, spent every winter as a young woman studying a different country. Over the course of her life, she lived and worked in all of these countries. She later met people she dreamt about during those long winters. Reviewing my own 20-year plan, unread for many years, I was shocked to discover most of the goals had been accomplished, in the years I had projected. As I held the paper in my hand, I wondered aloud if I was creating my life OR chasing some already determined destiny? I realized I am shifting in my life from willful direction to collaboration with my destiny.
