As of 3pm on Wednesday, Democrat Joe Biden is carrying Colorado's Electoral College votes. Republican Cory Gardner has conceded the U.S. Senate race to Democrat John Hickenlooper. Republican Lauren Boebert will represent the Third Distrct in Congress, defeating Democrat Diane Mitsch Bush. The Colorado River District's ballot measure passed with overwhelming support across 15 Western Slope counties. Republicans Matt Soper, Marc Catlin, and Janice Rich and Democrats Barbara McLachlan and Julie McCluskie won their state legislative races.
In Delta County:
- Wendell Koontz has defeated Jere Lowe for County Commissioner
- 1A (Back the Badge) has passed
- 2A (Retail marijuana for Cedarege) has passed
- 2C (Retail marijuana for Paonia) has passed
In Mesa County:
- Grand Junction voted to let the city retain revenue over the TABOR cap
- Voters approved stabilizing property tax revenue for Grand Junction Rural Fire Protection District
In Montrose County:
- Montrose voters approved DMEA's franchise with the City
- Nucla voted for a lodging tax for economic development efforts
In Ouray County:
- Voters approved property tax increases for Mountain Medical Center & flume repairs
- Democrats Lynn Padgett, Jake Niece were elected as County Commissioners
In San Miguel County:
- Democrat Kris Holstrom was elected as a County Commissioner
- The mill levy rate can be adjusted (tax increase) for firefighting, roads, etc.
Looking at the statewide ballot questions in Colorado:
- Amendment B passed so the Gallagher Amendment will be repealed
- Amendment 76 and 77 passed
- Prop EE, the tobacco tax, passed
- Prop 116 passed, which will decrease state income tax rates
- Prop 118, to create a statewide medical leave program, passed
- Amendment C did not meet the 55% approval standard, so it failed
- Prop 115, the late term abortion restriction measure, failed
- Prop 113 (popular vote), 114 (gray wolf reintroduction), and 117 are too close to call.
