KVNF visits the Embodying Rhythm Marimba Ensemble at their practice studio in Hotchkiss, CO. Kori Stanton talks with all eight members about composing new music and their upcoming performances at the Paradise Theatre in Paonia. These concerts will wrap up David Alderdice's 2019/2020 'World in Paradise Music Series'. This program features four new pieces that the group is working on for their upcoming album.

Grammy winning, iconic world music drummer, Glen Velez and acclaimed rhythm vocalist, Loire Cotler stopped by KVNF to talk with Kori Stanton before their concert at the Paradise Theatre in Paonia. Velez and Cotler opened the World Music in Paradise Series produced by local musician and teacher David Alderdice. Alderdice joined in for a couple of songs in the Bamboo Room.

Once a year the Valley Youth Orchestra throws a dinner concert and this year's concert "Tapestry of America" included four original pieces. Two of the pieces were composed and performed by youth musicians Anwen Borgo and Conner Hogan. The third original piece "Inner Spirit" was composed and conducted by mentor Justin G. Russell Jr.  North Fork Valley percussionist and composer David Alderdice also composed and performed his original piece "Days 4 & 5" with the Combined Orchestra.

The Embodying Rhythm Marimba Project Ensemble invites KVNF to one of their rehearsals to share some new music and talk about their North Fork collective.   This band includes:  David Alderdice, Arlyn Alderdice, Jeannette Carey, Daniel B, Matt Drbohlav, Rebecca Drbohlav, Osha Foster, & Jen Sanborn.
