  • Following a decision last November by the town of Paonia to not allow Pride Flags to be displayed on its light poles along Grand Avenue, numerous volunteers from The Learning Council stepped up with the Color the Town With Us Campaign.
  • Today you’ll hear from Maeve Conran, managing editor for the Rocky Mountain Community Radio Coalition. Maeve will discuss a variety of topics hitting the region, from legislation around gender affirming surgery for trans youth, to how students marched on the Colorado state legislature demanding action around gun violence.
  • Today we continue our coverage on the shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs over the weekend. Delta Pride will host a Club Q vigil on Sunday, November 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Delta Chamber of Commerce.
  • The LGBTQ community nationwide and in Colorado mourns another senseless shooting at a Colorado Springs night club over the weekend. A 22 year old gunman killed at least 5 patrons and wounded 25 others around midnight on Saturday. Paonia Trustees are considering three finalists for town administrator, reports the Delta County Independent. The three applicants are Guy Patterson, Evan Bolt and Melissa Fields-Allgeyer. Delta Health received its first sales tax payment in the amount of $318,000, The money was tallied nearly four months after voters approved the hospital’s 0.8% sales tax initiative. The City of Montrose saw increases in tax collections across the board during the third quarter of 2022.

  • With about 82-thousand wild horses and burros on public lands, researchers are looking for options to address the overpopulation. A recent study examined how castration impacts behavior and herd growth. Emma Gibson of the Mountain West News Bureau will bring us that story. Then Kate Redmond interviews filmmaker Anton Dudly, writer, director and performer on his film The Dutches Carpathia Bouffray, Alternative FAQs. The film will enjoy its Colorado Premier at Paonia’s Paradise Theater this weekend. It was the Official Selection of Beyond the Curve International Film Festival in Paris, and named Finalist for Best Queer Narrative.
