Colorado’s foster care system needs more than a thousand new foster families by 2019 according to the Colorado Department of Human Services.    On this episode of Local Motion, we hear about the process of becoming a foster parent, why the need is so great and how foster kids are helped through the organization CASA as they go through the court proceedings to determine guardianship.  Rebecca Lansdown of the child placement agency, Whimspire,  Carlton Mason executive director at CASA and a Grand Junction foster mom are interviewed.
