State Highway 149 is Now a National Scenic Byway

A picturesque 117-mile stretch of highway in Southwest Colorado known as the Silver Thread Scenic Byway is now a National Scenic Byway. Also known as state highway 149, it runs from South Fork to Creede to Lake City and ends at the Blue Mesa Reservoir just outside Gunnison.

In 2015, she was a fellow for the Institute for Justice & Journalism. Her fellowship project, a three-part series on the Karen refugee community in Delta, Colorado, received a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
