Jeff Reynolds

Week 3 of the Ouray Mountain Air Music Series features Fox Street, with opening act The Gold Magnolias. Recorded Thursday, June 19th, 2014.

Fox Street is a Denver-based roller coaster of roadhouse blues, interwoven with super-sized helpings of funk with elements of rock, soul and jazz.

The Gold Magnolias are built around a couple of Texas musicians who relocated to the mostly African-American neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn. They call their hybrid style "Southern soul."

A native Texan, Jeff was bitten by the Colorado "bug" after graduating from UT-Austin. He arrived in Paonia on the October full moon of 1978, and has been involved with KVNF since its earliest days. His first KVNF show was "Sunday Night Live," which featured live musicians performing in the original Garvin Mesa garage/studio.
