In Asia, a death poem is a gift to friends and family, a final distillation of a life.

Joe arrived at the clinic in a T-shirt and faded jeans. A retired acupuncturist, he was preparing to move from the desert of Arizona to the mountains of Colorado. Joe combined the Kabbalistic roots of his Jewish heritage with the river of Taoist thought, and that soulful brew infused the jisei, or death poem, he left as a final gift for friends, family and students. I share this final wisdom with you, as an extension of Joe's gift to the world.
