VOWS: Hunters and Gatherers of the Surface Creek Valley

VOWS: Hunters and Gatherers of the Surface Creek Valley

Retired Archaeologist and Tribal Liaison Sally Crum will give a talk exploring the lives of Paleoindian mammoth hunters, Archaic hunters and gatherers, the Fremont Culture (contemporaries of the “Hisatsinom,” or Anasazi, to the south) and the Northern, Ute Mountain, and Southern Utes. The valleys of the Gunnison and Colorado Rivers and their tributaries provided these people with bountiful resources for food and shelter for more than 13,000 years. This talk will be presented on Thursday, May 9, at 6:00pm at the Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center. There is a suggested donation of $10 per person. For more information, visit deltalibaries.org.
