Visit the Delta Library to view art by Heidl Hasenauer. Hasenauer is a Colorado based artist who was technically trained in 3D sculptural arts. Her desire to create quickly and with little to no plan led her away from long-drawn out techniques and toward fast drying acrylic paint. The focus of this series is based on understanding the effects of experience and phenomena on the human psyche. This art exhibit will be on display at the Delta Library until July 27. Can’t tell you how excited we are about this mystical tale of humanity and transformation: Dragon Play by Jenny Connell Davis
On a lonely farm in northern Minnesota, a husband and wife’s peaceful existence is shattered by the appearance of an unexpected visitor. On a hot stretch of highway in central Texas, a boy befriends a wounded dragon.
Spanning two moments in time and space and blurring the lines between each, The Dragon Play explores what happens when reality and fantasy converge, when desire and duty conflict, and when our deepest secrets show up breathing fire.

Wetlands are ecosystems where saturated conditions persist enough to support wetland vegetation and soils. Fens are a very special wetland that is groundwater dependent and peat accumulating. The long duration anaerobic conditions limit the decomposition of plant roots, leaves, and stems and over time this organic matter accumulates to form peat soil, making them the one of the best terrestrial carbon sinks. Fens are a unique and important part of the Upper Uncompahgre River Watershed.
