Physicist and professor Amos Dolbear in the late 1800s was a thinker and inventor. One invention he created was the first telephone receiver 11 years before Alexander Bell patent. Dolbear couldn't prove his claim, so Bell kept the patent. One of Amos Dolber’s more peculiar discoveries is known as Dolbear’s Law which uses cricket chirps to predict the temperature. According to Dolbear's law, the temperature is roughly equal to the number of cricket chirps in 15 seconds plus 40. Turns out your evening concert is also a math quiz.
