General Manager Position

MOUNTAIN GROWN COMMUNITY RADIO FOR WESTERN COLORADO 
KVNF, A forty year old community radio station is looking for a new General Manager to lead our public media service. Located in Western Colorado, we serve seven counties with a network of two transmitters, five translators, a main studio and offices in Paonia and a satellite studio in Montrose. Our broadcast area features smaller communities that lie amid the valleys and magnificent peaks of the Rocky Mountains. Our signal reaches from Grand Mesa on the North to the San Juan Mountains on the South, and from McClure Pass on the East to the Utah border (and a little beyond) on the West. 
With the Operations/Main office in Paonia; located in the North Fork Val1ey of the Gunnison River, we serve a broad spectrum community of Retirees, Young Families, Millenials and Entrepeneurs. Organic Farming, Ranching, Vineyards, Farm to Table Dining and the Arts are acclaimed. We are also home to many Non-Profit Organizations and Initiatives, including The Blue Sage Center For The Arts, The Paradise Theatre, The Western Slope Conservation Center, Citizens for a Healthy Community, Rotary International, High Country News and Solar Energy International. KVNF has been an anchor and a leader in that Non-Profit community for 40 years! 
The local school district proudly encompasses Montessori and Waldorf options at the Elementary level as well as Public Elementary and High Schools recognized for their outstanding Academic and Athletic achievements. 
Remarkable recreational activities abound as well! Aspen, Tel1uride, Crested Butte and Powderhorn Ski Areas are easily accessible in our beautiful Winters. The surrounding National Forest and BLM lands provide many options for hiking, biking, cross country skiing, equestrian activities, river running, mushroom hunting and much more. 
We are also fortunate to have a local music scene with ongoing events and visiting musicians covering everything from Rock, Bluegrass, World, Folk, Soul and Blues to Classical and Country; much like our Musical Offerings over the airwaves!
