Growing Home - North American Monsoon

Western Colorado's summer lifeline is the North American Monsoon—when July and August bring occasional Gulf moisture to us unleashing afternoon thunderstorms across our high desert. It's nature's air conditioning for our parched landscape! With snowpack running critically low this year, we're desperately crossing our fingers for relief. But here's the kicker: some years the monsoon plays hard to get, leaving us high and dry. NOAA's crystal ball? Hotter than normal temps with average rainfall. Mother Nature's keeping us guessing!
