Montrose Police arrested Sean Carey for allegedly calling in a bomb threat at Walmart as a diversion for stealing merchandise. Local authorities in the San Juans are preparing for winter by installing new avalanche mitigation tools on Red Mountain Pass. The biggest names in Western water will gather in Las Vegas this week to discuss the future of the Colorado River. All eyes are on Colorado as it brings wolves back into its native range.

Cassie moved to Montrose from Texas in April 2020, right before COVID changed the landscape of the world as we knew it. She brought her love of people and a degree in broadcast journalism to the Western Slope, where she built a strong foundation in local print news.
