Paonia has new water restrictions while crews reline the town’s main storage tank. A smaller temporary tank is in use during construction, so residents are on alternating-day watering schedules. Officials say there’s no shortage, but rules will be enforced through the end of irrigation season.

The Town of Crawford will begin rehabilitating Wiley Springs in September, requiring a week-long ban on outdoor watering and other conservation measures. Public Works Director Bruce Bair says the project — the first in 60 years — aims to increase reliability of the town’s only water source and boost supply by “at least 30 percent.”
