Final Friday Art Opening: Work by Shannon Castle
Final Friday Art Opening: Work by Shannon Castle
As an artist, Shannon often works in multiples, using symbols and repetition as she explores both her personal narrative and universal stories. The themes of balance, loss, love, protection, reuse, and renewal are stitched into her mixed media artwork. Making and remaking objects in a series is like her visual prayer. This show includes Shannon’s recent encaustic collages, a machine stitched quilt, and an ongoing collection of her blank art cards.
Shannon Castle creates art in her home studio and teaches art/Upper Elementary at the North Fork Montessori at Crawford. Shannon has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Ceramics, a K-12 Art Teacher Licensure, Elementary Education Licensure, Montessori Language training, and a Master of Arts degree with a focus on Community Art. She has teaching experience at all levels and has sold her artwork in a variety of venues.
