Bonnie “Prince" Billy // Now Here’s My Plan

Released 7.24.12  Drag City

If this is your introduction to Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, you are meeting a man part-genius, part-indulgent rambler. His score’s of albums under a variety of names (Palace Music, Palace Brothers, Palace, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Bonnie Billy, Bonnie 'Blue' Billy, & Will Oldham) are expansive and lonely, romping and snide, and all together strangely harmonious

Now Here’s My Plan revisits six previously recorded BPB tracks intended as a companion release to his forthcoming pseudo-autobiographical book Will Oldham on Bonnie "Prince" Billy out 9.12.12. The album’s recordings are mellow re-imaginings of the original tracks, including a cover of Cash’s “I See A Darkness.” The book, which Oldham calls “his last interview,” is a series of conversations between Oldham and experimental musician Alan Licht.

We never know what will come from a Will Oldham release, but the cult-folk artist always has our attention.

Recommended Tracks: 5. I See A Darkness (Johnny Cash Cover), 2. Beast For Thee, 1. I Don't Belong To Anyone
