As Tamara reported, more than a dozen different organizations, government agencies, and even competitors worked together last month to make sure the Cameron Peak Fire wouldn’t knock out the internet around Estes Park. $6M is flowing from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to build fiber that will connect Moffat, Eagle, and Grand counties. Elevate, the fiber internet subsidiary of DMEA is getting $2M in state funds. And the Governor is asking for $160M for broadband in the next state budget.
