My back ground is in Veterinary medicine. I worked as veterinary technician for 16 years. I don't have any formal broadcasting education, but I come from a family who was very musically inclined. My mother trained and studied Opera in Europe. My Grand mother taught piano and my oldest brother is a guitarist.

Tara Miller is a poet and potter and gardener, living just outside Paonia. She is a promoter of efficient technologies (solar cooking and photvoltaics) and a godmother in Taquile Island, Peru. She has been a DJ at KVNF since 1991, primarily playing women’s music on One Woman’s Perspective. She has been awarded two KVNF awards: Ancestral drumbeat for her work to keep One Woman’s Perspective as a viable program, and another, “Most Likely to Wash the Dishes."

Prior to moving to the North Fork Area, Ruth taught Art History to freshmen at Colorado State University for over 20 years. Her aesthetic sensibilities combine the visual and musical, so it has seemed natural to try her hand at being a DJ when the invitation was graciously extended by KVNF. She enjoys being a DJ for the Medicine Show and In the Classical Tradition.

Georgia transplanted herself to Paonia after having a “values crisis” in a big city. She loves classical music, jazz and just about any other kind of music. She currently helps DJ the Sunday night program "In the Classical Tradition." Women composers are her specialty as well as more contemporary music but she loves the earlier composers as well. When not at the mike , she can be found at her piano, in her vegetable garden, or on her bike, skis or the trail. Tune in Sunday nights and be surprised at the breadth, beauty and creativeness of a genre that has influenced all others!
