FEATURE: Eight of the twenty five wolves Colorado has reintroduced have died. One lost a battle with a mountain lion. Another was killed by an even more sophisticated predator: a government agency that kills hundreds of thousands of wild animals each year. For the Mountain West News Bureau, Scott Franz brings us the story of the wolf known as 25-05 B-C, from its beginnings in British Columbia to its death in the crosshairs of Wildlife Services.

NEWS: Delta council members approved a new liquor store at a public hearing on June 3. The new business at 1560 South Main will be called Delta Liquor Store and l feature a large beer closet and a drive-up window. Council members also held a public hearing to approve a Project Needs Assessment regarding Main Street’s water main. The council first reviewed the findings of the study, conducted by the Grand Junction-based engineering firm KLJ, two weeks ago at a work session.
