There's has attention recently on the termination of a City of Montrose Employee that occurred at the end of March, but as KVNF's Brody Wilson reports, this was not an ordinary city employee, and the timing of the termination has raised eyebrows across the state.

According to reporting in the Montrose Daily Press, Montrose Mayor Dave Frank said the timing of the termination of Maxwell was “based on the city’s annual review process held in March.” Montrose City council directly hires three positions: City manager, city attorney, and municipal judge. Maxwell was hired as judge in 2023. More on this story can be found at montrosepress.com
