Dominguez-Escalante Expedition Education Project (DEEEP)

Dominguez-Escalante Expedition Education Project (DEEEP)
You may have noticed signs throughout Delta County that say “Escalante-Dominguez Expedition Campsite”. In July 1776 Father Dominguez and Father Escalante left Santa Fe, New Mexico with the intentions of creating a route to the missions in California. In August they traveled through Colorado which included 4 days in Delta County.
Dominguez-Escalante Expedition Education Project (DEEEP) was formed to revitalize the education efforts about the Expedition of 1776 in time for the 250 the anniversary in 2026.
On Saturday, July 13 at 2:00 at the HCHS museum (180 S. 2nd St), David Bradford will present the information on Father Dominguez and Father Escalante’s portion of the Expedition through Delta County. All are welcome.
