FREE Film Screening: "Western Water - Power"
The Western Slope Conservation Center and the Colorado River Water Conservation District invite you to an evening centered on our most precious resource - water.
This FREE film screening of Rocky Mountain PBS' "Western Water – And Power" explores the history of the Colorado River and its far-reaching impact on the American West. Through the story of dams, diversions, and large-scale infrastructure, the film examines how water has been stretched beyond natural limits - moving uphill to support growing populations, economic interests, and development.
Following the film, Stephen Foster, Water Resources Engineer for the River District, will provide insight into the current water year, its historical context, the potential influence of a developing "Super" El Niño, and ongoing efforts to conserve Western Slope water supplies.
An important opportunity to better understand the water systems we all depend on - join us this Earth Day, April 22 at 6:30 PM at the Paradise Theatre in Paonia. No tickets required.
