Acting Generously with Kate Kissingford
Acting Generously with Kate Kissingford
What is Acting?
Lots of folks who have devoted their lives to playing on stage have different answers to this question. For me, acting involves the willingness and ability to vulnerably and honestly open oneself to the human experience in order to give generously to an audience through storytelling. I believe that when actors do great work, audiences leave the theater (or film) “shifted” in some way.
This class will explore this particular pathway to acting. In this 8 week course, I will help you assess your strengths as an actor as well as where you can go deeper. We will engage in dramatic improv and also choose scenes to work with, generating a supportive environment in which to experiment, take risks, play & learn.
Weekly on Thursdays (no class on March 31st or April 14th)
Who should take this class? Anyone who has a yearning to challenge themselves in the art of acting, is willing to work hard and have fun doing it.
Co-founder and Artistic Director of UpstART, Theater that Moves, Kate has performed on various stages nationwide for the last 32 years.
