Ecstatic Paonia Dance is a bi monthly dance practice facilitated by Tanya Blacklight in community collaboration with local DJ’s, VJ’s, community artists and members coming together on the 2nd and 4th Tues evening at 7:30pm to gather, set intentions and dance in the way of a personal experiential movement practice with a different live DJ each session. We create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere where all are welcome to join in safe space to move how you want to, sit, dance wildly or gently, stretch, breathe, jump, crawl, laugh, cry, caw, hoot, holler, laugh, and any other expression you desire except for talking after the opening circle.

We allow our body language to speak for us and let our words take a break for an hour and a half for physical self expression that is led by your own inner voice. Children and elders are more than welcome to join in this all ages substance free dance. We ask that parents guide their kids to join in this dance celebration without words and exemplify utilizing body language as a form of personal expression and communication.

Please leave your cell phones behind and wear anything you feel comfortable to move in, bring your water bottle, and we always have a costume box to share as well as face paints and altar spaces to sit in meditation and explore your inner world.

As we move our bodies in this devotional practice we not only have a lot of fun dancing and getting exercise, we may also may experience a great shift, new ideas may be born, and/or realizations of self which we are invited to share in the closing circle, and in turn we are encouraged to bring out into our daily lives and day to day reality.

Our dance class is open to all who are on a sober, healing path, as many are indeed in recovery from some sort of substance or emotional abuse path, which this is a safe and non judge mental space for, with the class lovingly held by the same community organizers who set up and break down each session.
