Kid Vision: A Filmmaking Adventure

n this week-long workshop, teens will learn the fundamentals of documentary filmmaking while exploring the stories that matter most to them and their communities. From storyboarding to editing, students will create their own short films, culminating in a community screening that celebrates local voices and youth perspectives.

Skills Learned
Story development and storyboarding – turning ideas into structured visual narratives
Camera operation and visual composition – learning how to shoot compelling footage
Interviewing techniques – crafting and conducting meaningful on-camera interviews
Editing fundamentals – using accessible tools to shape raw footage into a polished film
Understanding film set roles – learning the various roles on a set and how they collaborate
Teamwork and collaboration – working together to bring a film from concept through to premiere
