Mesa Conservation District (MCD) invites the community to its 2025 Annual Landowner Meeting and Local Work Group on Friday, May 9th, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the CSU Western Colorado Research Center – Orchard Mesa, located at 3170 B 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81503.

The evening will open with a complimentary dinner served from 5:30 to 5:50 PM, followed by reflections from MCD Board President Michael Lobato and a celebration of local agricultural leaders recently honored as Colorado State Conservationists of the Year. The honorees include:

Lowell King & Philip Frank of Lifetime Ag (Farmer Category)

Harry Jackson of Vineland Enterprises (Small Acreage Category)

At 6:30 PM, the NRCS-led Local Work Group session will provide producers and community members a key opportunity to give input that helps shape natural resource funding and program priorities in our region.
The event will also feature Greg Peterson, of the Colorado Ag Water Alliance, as the evening’s guest speaker. Peterson will present lessons learned through the Alliance’s Drought Resilience Program, a timely and relevant topic for our region’s producers.

The evening will conclude with a preview of upcoming events and MCD initiatives designed to strengthen conservation and support producers across the region.
