On this edition of Local Motion we go back in time and re-air a few KVNF Stories that ran from May to August.

This year, writer Katie Klingsporn spent four months regularly visiting Arapaho Charter High School on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. She wanted to know how principal Katie Law had turned the school around, from zero graduates in 2018, to 14 graduates this spring, with eight going on to college or Job Corps. The answer was Law's total dedication to her students. She never gave up on them. She helped them deal with the many challenges they faced. The result, as Klingsporn puts it, is something to celebrate: "One caring adult can make an enormous difference in a student’s life."

FEATURE: KVNF's Lisa Young spoke with Cole Buerger Democratic candidate for Colorado Senate District 5. Buerger says he's focused on regional issues and personal rights as he prepares to face Republican Marc Catlin in November. Buerger and Catlin have agreed to a debate on September 21, 2024 sponsored by Club 20.

FEATURE: Last month, over 50 musicians from across Colorado and the country came to the tiny mountain town of Lake City. They where there to put on a band concert. It's not a paying gig. They do it for the love of music. As Laura Palmisano reports for KVNF, they had less than two days to prepare for the show.
