Join Mel Schreiner, CSU Extension Entomologist, for an engaging and educational journey into the fascinating world of insect camouflage and aposematism! Discover how insects use their remarkable survival strategies to thrive in the wild, from blending seamlessly into their surroundings by mimicking leaves, bark, and twigs to boldly advertising their defenses with vibrant warning colors. Through this exploration, you’ll learn about the science behind these clever adaptations, their role in ecosystems, and the evolutionary pressures that shaped them. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the world through the eyes of insects and uncover the secrets of their incredible adaptations!

Melissa (Mel) Schreiner works as a state entomologist for CSU Extension, Tri-River Area. Her extension and research program helps to solve agricultural, urban, public health, and natural resource issues relating to pest management and entomology in western Colorado.
