  • Today we wrap up our three part series on Delta’s Unhoused - an interview with Delta City Manager Elyse Casselberry. In November the city closed “tent city” located west of town at the old Horse Country arena. Since then, Delta’s Unhoused have been seeking shelter at Abraham Connection. Casselberry says the city is actively seeking options for the unhoused that could include “permanent supportive housing with services.”
  • A number of questions have been raised concerning the closure of a homeless encampment west of Delta. Lisa Young recently spoke with Delta City Manager Elyse Casselberry via phone to get some answers. Today is the final day to participate in Colorado Gives Day 2022. Colorado Gives Day has grown to be Colorado's largest 24-hour giving event, raising more than $362 million for nonprofits across the state since it began, according to ColoradoGives.org.
  • The Shepherd's Center is a community center in downtown Montrose that serves the homeless and other community members. The center officially opened in June of last year. It provides free breakfast and lunch on weekdays, a food pantry, a senior meal delivery program, and other services. Last week, Shepherd's Hand, the faith-based nonprofit behind the center, purchased the building housing it in downtown Montrose.
