Meet Your Instructor: Loretta ColumbiaArt Teacher & ArtistI have been an art teacher for over 21 years in public schools and numerous art camps. I feel so very blessed to have experienced this role in my life. Through my experience with students, I have developed my own personal approach to art and teaching it. One of my main focuses is for students to experience their own signature for art. I make an effort to expose them to master artists, folk art and different cultures from around the world. My hope was and is to teach tolerance and understanding for others through art. I also encourage exploration and experimenting with mediums and learning new art techniques.
My family moved from the Front Range to the Valley 2 years ago after years of visiting and planning. I have 4 grown children, grandchildren, dogs and a husband. I love hiking, cross-country skiing, fly fishing and traveling. Of course, I love making a mess in the art room!
See Poster for exact dates and times for this class. Introduction to the pottery wheel. Includes extras for honing your craft.
Monks from the Drepung Gomang Sacred Arts Tour will be blessing the Farmers Market, the water, ranchers, farmers and the North Fork Valley. Please bring your own chair and a cash or check donation to "TGDC" or "Tashi Gomang Dharma Center". Donations of fresh fruit and flowers are also encouraged.
The Arbol Farmers Market accepts SNAP and Double Up Bucks and offers local organic produce, flowers, fruit, herbs, honey, meat, breads, artisan goods, and more. One of the highlights of our market is a donations-based, locally-sourced meal prepared by the Learning Council.
Our summer market runs every Tuesday from May 13th to October 14th at Paonia Town Park, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM for most of the season, with hours shifting to 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM starting September 2nd. It’s a lively community event with live music, wood-fired pizza, and educational opportunities throughout the season.
