Come enjoy hand carving a star block from EasyCut and then collaborating with your classmates to print a number of stars on pieces of pre-cut cotton to string onto colored cord and finish with a decorative button on each end. Perfect touch for the tree or over the door to welcome Holiday visitors. All supplies and tools provided.

About the Instructor:

Ouida is an artist and printmaker living in Delta, Colorado. Her work explores two passions: socially conscious narratives about bold women—mythical or from the American West—and the beauty of observed life, interpreted through a graphic, image-making lens. More than a printmaker or painter, she strives to create work that is remarkable and visually engaging. Ouida enjoys teaching printmaking and painting at colleges and community workshops, sharing her expertise in techniques ranging from woodcut and reduction printing to chine collé and monoprinting. She works from her well-lit studio in a turn-of-the-century bungalow, where she also cultivates a garden and creative space. Her work has been exhibited nationally and is represented by Mixx Atelier (Telluride, CO), Artful Home (Madison, WI), Tubac Art and Gifts Gallery (Tubac, AZ), Kalisher Art Publishing (Carrboro, NC), and MakeWest Art Publishing (Denver, CO). Get cozy and join us for our annual gingerbread house decorating event! Picture buckets of candy, oodles of frosting, sticky fingers, heaps of smiles, and a kajillion sugar-coated photo ops. Bring your favorite grown-up(s) to decorate your very own sweet gingerbread house. After check-in, you'll find fully assembled houses ready for the magic of your imagination and decoration. Browse tables filled with candy and goodies to embellish your creations with plenty of frosting, then take your house home to enjoy during the holiday season — with guidance and creative inspiration from Claudia Brauer.

Please sign up in advance to secure your gingerbread house, as we may not be able to accommodate walk-ins once we reach capacity. Doors open at 2pm.
