Since then, I have been hooked on music. I'm always searching for new artists, deeper cuts or just great music. My dream to DJ has come true at KVNF.   • Born in the Panama Canal Zone, Roger grew up with radio. His father was a HAM radio operator, and there was always a radio room in his house. He started listening to public radio in the late 1970s while in college and started volunteering at community station WMNF, Tampa, Florida in 1980. He went on to become News Director. Since, he has served as News Director for WDET, Detroit Public Radio and most recently as Program Director for Wyoming Public Radio. In Panama he was an avid water-skier but is embarrassed to say he has never been on snow skis. He loves the West and enjoys fly-fishing, horses, photography, sculpture and poetry. His daughter is a Junior in college while his teenage son is a Junior in high school.
  • Natalie came to the station in 2013. She moved to the Northwoods from Providence, Rhode Island where she worked at Rhode Island Public Radio. She studied Environmental Studies at Brown University, and learned radio production at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
  • David Sommerstein, a contributor from North Country Public Radio (NCPR), has covered the St. Lawrence Valley, Thousand Islands, Watertown, Fort Drum and Tug Hill regions since 2000. Sommerstein has reported extensively on agriculture in New York State, Fort Drum’s engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the lives of undocumented Latino immigrants on area dairy farms. He’s won numerous national and regional awards for his reporting from the Associated Press, the Public Radio News Directors Association, and the Radio-Television News Directors Association. He's regularly featured on NPR's Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Only a Game, and PRI’s The World.
  • Nicole Beemsterboer is the Senior Producer of Investigations at NPR, where she oversees the conceptualization, development, and execution of the network's investigative reporting across all platforms and coordinates the team's internal and external news partnerships.
  • Elizabeth Jensen was appointed as NPR's Public Editor in January 2015. In this role, she serves as the public's representative to NPR, responsible for bringing transparency to matters of journalism and journalism ethics. The Public Editor receives tens of thousands of listener inquiries annually and responds to significant queries, comments and criticisms.
