Class description: Learn the skills and techniques behind professional mural art and street art from self-taught artist Cayden Marie. This class covers spray painting, color theory, large-scale design, painting fundamentals, and how to build a portfolio. Drawing on her own journey from graffiti to commissioned murals and gallery work, Cayden will teach students how to express themselves safely, professionally, and creatively.
Teacher BIO As a young muralist and freelance artist from Hotchkiss Colorado, Cayden started painting murals when she was 15, she began by collaborating and learning from other painters and muralists. By the time she was 16 she had a lot of commissions and made some of her first big works. Previously, she had gotten in trouble for tagging and vandalism and was given the opportunity to express herself through her art in a safe space by her school and family. A lot of young artists don't have that support, her goal is to give other young artists the same supportive space she had. At 19, Cayden has many opportunities because of her art. Perhaps this project will inspire upcoming artists to pursue their own artistic journey.
Live music will continue Saturday, September 27th at the PUB after Mountain Harvest Fest.
Devon Meyers and friends will be jamming starting at 8:30pm to keep the fun alive.
