Eric Galatas reports that some advocates are hoping for improvements in the program.Also, The USDA's Farm Service Agency's Farm Loan Programs are making changes designed to improve borrower financial flexibility. USDA's Rod Bain looks at these proposed changes on today's “Agriculture USA”.

  • In an unusual move, Montrose Mayor J. David Reed addressed the audience following public comments during a recent city council meeting. Reed’s prepared statement came on the heels of continued calls for the City to declare itself as a non sanctuary city.
  • Work on the US 50 Middle Bridge over Blue Mesa Reservoir continue with plans to open the bridge “in some capacity” by the Fourth Of July, reports the Montrose Daily Press. The bridge has been closed for seven weeks. County Road 26, the Lake City Cut Off, continues to be the main detour route. Kebler Pass, connecting Crested Butte with Paonia, is also open for travel.
  • Some of those herds are here in Colorado, where the first infection was detected in the northeastern part of the state in April. Dr. Jason Lombard, a veterinary epidemiologist at Colorado State University, says that number has now grown.
