A film festival highlighting diverse perspectives on disability is coming to Lake City this Sunday at the Mountaineer Theater. For KVNF, Laura Palmisano brings us details on the event. It starts at 5:30pm with a BBQ followed by live music. The first film shows at 6:30pm. Tickets are available online.

History Colorado, the state’s historic fund, recently awarded the Hinsdale County Historical Society a $50,000 grant. The money will help in the restoration of a rail car that once transported people and goods to and from the town of Lake City. However, the grant requires matching funds. The organization already has $15,000 in pledges from a small group of local rail enthusiasts. But, the historical society still needs to raise an additional $25,000 to match the grant. OHVs are permitted on a three-mile section of State Highway 149 in Hinsdale County for the season starting this coming weekend. Our news department brought home 3 third place wins, 6 second place wins, and 2 first place wins in the Top of the Rockies contest administered by the Society of Professional Journalists Colorado Chapter on behalf of chapters in Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. At the gala for the Colorado Broadcasters Association, we earned 3 second place wins, and 2 first place wins.
