Beat Night is a monthly All Originals Open Mic. Created and hosted by Jeanine Renee to provide a space for writer’s of Poetry, Songs and Prose to share their original work with an enthusiastic listening audience, in the relaxed lounge setting of Louie’s Loft. Beat Night has been ongoing four four years inspiring many to present their work.

Trish Hopkinson is a poet and advocate for the literary arts. You can find her online at SelfishPoet.com and in western Colorado where she runs the regional poetry group Rock Canyon Poets and is a board member of the International Women’s Writing Guild. Her poetry has been published in several lit mags and journals, including Sugar House Review, TAB: The Journal of Poetry & Poetics, Cultural Daily, and The Penn Review. Hopkinson’s full length book A Godless Ascends was published by Lithic Press in March 2024. Her fourth e-chapbook Almost Famous was published by Yavanika Press in 2019 and her third chapbook Footnote was published by Lithic Press in 2017. Hopkinson happily answers to labels such as atheist, feminist, and empty nester; and enjoys traveling, live music, and craft beer.

Delta County Reads! Join the community for Delta County Reads! Delta County Libraries, the Paradise Theatre, and the Blue Sage Literary Committee present the books "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and "The Secret Garden: A Graphic Novel" by Mariah Marsden, and the 2020 film The Secret Garden for the 2024 Delta County Reads Program. Copies of the book are available at all five libraries in Delta County, and at checkout the reader will receive up to four tickets per book to attend a free showing of the film at the Paradise Theatre in May. The Paradise Theatre is hosting two showings of the film, Saturday May 4, and Sunday May 5. For showtimes, contact the Paradise Theatre at 970-527-6610 or visit paradiseofpaonia.com.
