Please join us for a special morning with local author David Padilla, author of "Crossing More Than Just Borders."

In this moving and personal story, David shares his experience of crossing the border as a child and growing up here on the Western Slope. His journey offers a unique perspective on family, belonging, childhood, and the experiences that shape who we become.

David will be reading selections from his book, sharing a glimpse into his journey and experiences. Copies of "Crossing More Than Just Borders" will also be available for purchase and signing.

Representatives from The League of Women Voters will offer information about voter registration, voting procedures, and civic participation at the Hotchkiss Library on Mondays from 3pm to 5pm and on Wednesdays 10:15am to 12:30pm, throughout the month of October, beginning October 10th.

Attendees can ask questions, learn how to access reliable, nonpartisan voting information, and receive assistance finding resources related to their voter registration and voting status.

This program is open to adults age 18 and older.

Sally Bridgham, local craftsperson and museum volunteer, will demonstrate the ancient art of spinning wool into yarn. Sally will discuss types of fiber, the history of spinning, how it works, and why! We will even have an antique spinning wheel on display, generously on loan from the Hotchkiss Crawford Historical Society. Attendees will have a chance to ask questions and to create their own short piece of yarn to take with them.
